2000 is the year of all the daring !
After a long period working for important freight forwarders and ship-owners, Francis BINDER creates FREIGHTeCOM.
At the beginning, it was all about a central purchasing office for seafreight between Asia and Europe, a job that Francis knows well and which will be at the origin of the current name of the company. He succeeds in gathering the purchasing potential of 5 partners, and FREIGHTECOM becomes the Number 1 customer of a ship-owner serving this area.
However, the durability of this activity is limited and Francis therefore decides to open up to other opportunities.
In 2002, one of his cousins owning a boat rental company asks Francis to bring back from Miami a large fishing/leisure boat for one of his important customers, who owns a villa in South Corsica and who wants to enjoy it during summer. Francis decides to take up this challenge, looks for the best connection as close as possible to these 2 points and finally chooses the Miami / Valencia route, the final part to Corsica being organized with a skipper.
This transport was a great success and FREIGHTECOM, little by little, gets specialized in this niche. It is also the start of a real passion and a word of mouth that will lead, over time, customers to entrust us with more and more important units, on the most atypical routes !
This know-how, respectful of owner's attachment to his boat, allows more and more exciting voyages on all globe's seas.
Thus, FREIGHTECOM becomes known for the offshore races : Route du Rhum, Course Jacques Vabre and chartering of 8 out of 10 yachts for Vendee Globe.
Afterwards, shipyards and renting yacht companies trust us in turn; and finally working and passenger transport boats as well.
It is of a great satisfaction to see our customers happy and grateful for the work done, because the adventure of shipping a boat well-followed from one end to the other is also theirs !
Handover on July 23rd, 2020
In 2020, it's time to hand over the company's future and Henry-Philippe MONTAZEL enters into the loop. The two men have known each other for more than 20 years and have worked together in the past. The trust is there and the values are shared.
Henry-Philippe has a 30-year experience in the freight forwarding industry & maritime environment, both in France and Asia, and wanted to carry out a long matured entrepreneurial project. He will continue the development of FREIGHTECOM and its influence in the boating and maritime circles.
